Any Ideas
Do any of you readers have an idea as to how to go about collecting money for charity ? Well the point here is that i have managed to plan up for the Road Trip. Now that the planning part is done, i would like to see if i can put together some money for some charity organization. Question is how do i start ? If i ask someone saying "I am doing this trip can you support some charity?" i get a neat and clinical response "You must be crazy to cycle all the way to madras". So any ideas ? you can send across a mail or post up a comment !

choose a charity organization u want to support and that will inturn directly tell u what kind of project/work u want to support. u could send emails to friends saying that they could donate 100 rs. for every km. (or 10$ for every km?) u would cycle and this money would go to the charity organization/specific project u have in mind... and that u have in mind of raising Rs.X by doing this cycling!... good luck!
Spice up the whole expedition with attractive fundas - You being Gaja Buja fundas it must not be a problem for you. Then start a viral marketing of the idea/concept. With hits, you will get some attension and some pledge and some cash. Once you have cash, the charities will make a beline to you.
There is something called porn appeal( I wish I could do it - is the fundamental thinking process you want to kindle/exploit). Create posts that feeds this frenzy.
For example you can tell that you are going to give a goodwill candy to evey man/women/child/student/onlooker you are going to encounter in your trip. And ask for a sponsorship. You can ask sponsorship of Re 1 per candy. And watch how it picks up.
With porn everything is possible!
