I thought you were in india for the last 3 years as "motherland" to an indian means india.

    Have a nice time

Anon1 , You are right and that usually is true for people with broader vision. Usually some self centered people can only think of Madras as "Motherland". Big people think big , small people think small.

He probably didnt listen to the same song in Hindi version. Narrow minded as he is, he surely would not have.

"Bhaarat humko jaan se pyaara hai
    Jabse nyaara gulistaan hamara hai
    Hindustani naam hamara hai
    Sabse pyaara desh hamara hai"

    Assam se gujarat tak
    Bengal se maharashtra tak
    Jaati kai hum ek hain
    Bhaasha kai sur ek hai
    Kashmir se madras tak
Keh do sabhi hum ek hain
    Aawaaz do hum ek hain
    Jaago

This also shows the mentality of chennaites barring a few!!!

en veedu thaai tamil nadu endrae sollada
(my house will always be "motherland" tamilnadu)

My House Mother TamilNadu just say so!
    or
My House Mother-Tamil Nadu just say so!

It says .. say your house is TN
    not your motherland.

You can also read it as Mother-Tamil's country is your House

    You big woman's blouse !!

en naamam indian endrae endrum nillada
(my name will always be "indian")
    should be
Take a stand and say your name is "Indian".

-vairamuthu's lyrics ( The Dopeman from Kodambakkam ) and rahman's stirring music ( Another copycat musician )
