Quantum of Solace - Review
Say James Bond, and the first thing that conjures up in anyone's mind is Guns, Girls, and Glass.
Right from the time Daniel Craig took over as Bond, there seems to be a marked departure from the time tested formula, and Quantum of Solace is no exception.
The movie is quite simple. There is a secret organization that tries to take control of Bolivia's water supply. How Bond stops them is the crux of the story.
Given that Bond did not completely destroy the organization behind this attempt, and the killing of his girl friend is Casino Royale, one wonders that this would lead to another series involving a group of villains, a-la the first three Bond movies.
The action sequences in this movie are top-class, especially the one with the aircraft.
However, all said and done, walking out of the movie hall leaves you wondering whether it was a good idea to give a new formula to James Bond movies. After all, he now becomes yet another hero.
What's superman without his flying powers and a cape ?
