How do you write a review for a movie that has so many layers ?
How do you write a review for a movie that, after a long time, respects the intellectual capabilities of the audience ?
How do you write a review for a movie, where the director succeeds in inception ?
Inception is a rather simple movie. It is about a thief who steals ideas from the sub conscious minds of the people. However, he is caught stealing. In a chance at redemption, he is asked to plant an idea, or inception. What happens and whether he does it forms the crux of the movie. Does he succeed ? Is he able to get redemption ?
Brilliant acting and an outstanding screenplay make this a rather riveting movie to watch, where every single frame and dialogue gives you clues about the movie.
The special effects are of the highest order. Look for the anti gravity fight sequences which are so very brilliantly done.
As you walk out of the movie, you do not know whether Leonardo Di Caprio succeeded in inception, but the director has. He has planted his idea in all our minds. What did he plant ? Watch the movie to find out.
While a lot of comparisons would be made to the path breaking movie Matrix, this movie is very different from it. While Matrix had a lot of what the *** moments, this movie is rather simple and straight forward even at the first viewing. However, what is quite interesting about this movie is that once you are done with your first viewing, you start picking up a lot of scenes and situations which can be interpreted rather differently.
A must watch movie. Christopher Nolan is fast becoming one of those directors whose movies are being elevated to the must watch status.
