Katrina

No this post is not about that stunning Katrina kaif. ;-)
Nature is always a great leveller. For those moronic indians who keep claiming that countries abroad have better mechanisims etc etc the so called heaven on earth { uncle sam land what else ? } is reeling under a hurricane. My heartfelt sympathies go out to those who lost their families in this natural calamity.
But for those idiotic indians { especially indians who have this crap self defeating attitude } who at the slightest instance, start a stream of abuse at government, this is again a worth read.
The bottomline is simply this. There is no escaping nature. How much ever a country may be developed or whatsoever, before nature there is little that we can do.
Notice how the common man out there is going about his everyday activities, trying to do what best he can, instead of sitting on the rooftop and blaming the government for not doing this and not doing that !

Isn't it always strange ? You meet a srilankan and inspite of the terrorism that wrecks his country, never will he say that his country is a bad place. He always says i have a beautiful country with lots of beaches and you must visit it sometime.Contrast it with a vast majority of indians who live in us of a.The first instance they start of by saying india has bad roads, polluted air.I agree all those things exist. But should'nt they be good brand ambassdor's first ? Why not see the positives and highlight them too ? Fie on such people and may they rot in hell.
Oh on a more tangential note i dunno what prompted this fury in me against those people today !

And finally i once knew the funda behind why hurricane's are being given female names.Something to do with where they are being formed. If anyone knows it do post a comment.

Well said Shyam! Our people who foul mouth our own land in the US (and other countries) should no longer be considered Indians.

    Shyam,

Indians might seem to sound idiotic when it comes to critisizing... But did you ever hear of a Looting or raping instance during the recent tsunami or the Mumbai floods ? Did you even hear someone say "Every man for himself" and refuse help to someone else ? All these happened in New Orleans.

When it comes to the nature of Indians to offer a helping hand, I don't think anyone else would fare better.

And what's wrong in Complaining ? What wrong in raising one's voice ? The crying baby gets the milk. Is it not natural that we expect the basic amenities to be in place ? Is it not natural that we seek protection from such natural diasters ? I don't think deeming the voices of those deeply affected as idiotic is justified. If you are referring to those trying to gain political advantages from such incidents, I can understand.

i completely agree wit somu, even after the tsunami, looting was unheard of and those who had nothing or little also gave something, tat is the spirit of our country.

criticising is good, if ppl complain and raise their voices then something may happen rather than doin nothing. i cmoplain about the water condition in madrsa, the roads, but i still love madras,

hurricanes r names after females due to the destruction theycause ;-) (historically women have cause lot of havoc like troy)
