I Dare You

It is an accepted fact that most, why almost all, politicians in India, in the name of being Secular, adopt quite an aggressive anti-Hindu stance. While this is largely due to non-unity amongst we Hindus, that remains a matter to be discussed on another day and another time.

The debate in question is over the SethuSamudram project. While it is understandable that the current ruling party in TamilNadu, DMK, wants to take entire credit for the project, what is not understandable is the objectionable ways in which Mr.M.Karunanidhi is going about talking to the media.

Read here for more on this.

Now, I dare you, why, I double dare you, you political machinist and stooping so low for silly political gains, Mr.Karunanidhi to do this. There is a place called Thousand Lights in Madras. Now, there is a mosque constructed in that place. Nothing wrong with that. The mosque juts out into the road by around 10 feet. If you are so secular and concerned about development, why don't you push back that mosque by 10 feet and make way for traffic ? Note that this does not mean that there is no such precedent. Around 20 years back, in 1988 to be precise, a temple in Ashok Nagar, opposite to the now existing Senthil towers, was moved back to make for a road that connects Ashok Pillar and Vadapalani. When that was done, why can this not be done ?

With the growing amount of education levels in people, it is always a matter of time before people stop listening to such silly ramblings from such stupid and brain-dead politicians.

K.Shyam

PS: On a more interesting note, I am curious to know what the supporters of DMK, particularly the so-called educated and intellectual Hindus, have to answer for this question of mine !

Its very unfortunate that even educated people like you cannot understand Karunanidhi's position on this. The DMK and the central government have given a zillion scientific/rational answers to those who object the Sethu Canal.

But when Ram is unnecessarily used to scuttle a project, a frustrated Karunanidhi can only react by attacking Ram himself. Before you throw stones at others homes, see that you Hindus (by allowing the VHP crackpots to run the show) find yourself in glass houses.

    Balaji: Wrong. Absolutely Wrong !
All that I am saying is that when you can offend the belief of one religion in the name of development, why not do the same with other religions when it comes to development.

    As simple as that.

And by the way, the goonda culture is not what I am talking about. In case you are not aware of dravidian way of politics, you would have no idea of how DMK operates !

And for the record, I am a non-believer, agnostic individual myself.

All that I am saying is that when you are ready to trample upon the beliefs of one religion, why not do the same for every religion. After all you are secular right ?

    >> why not do the same for every religion

why, which project is being blocked by Allah or Yahweh?

wait, Thousands Lights etc are silly examples compared to Ram Sethu. I can give you a zillion examples for Temples blocking roads and the other case of mosques/dargas that were removed for roads. For starters, do you know how many mosques and temples were removed for the Golden Quadrangular project on the Madras-Bangalore stretch?

    Balaji;
Wrong again. Well, if you just revert back to previous years newspapers, which I remember clearly doing so some years back, the same Karunanidhi refused to allow the mosque to be moved back.

And when you are talking about Golden Quadrilateral, excuse me, that was a project conceived by erstwhile BJP at the center, and was just executed by a certain Mr. Baalu of the DMK. In fact, by your own statement, both temples and mosques were given equal treatment.

If you read the news items from various sources, in order to get an unbiased view, you will read that Mr.Baalu has gone on record saying that any alternative route will cause ecological damage. However, once again, if you read the Greenpeace report, you will see that there is enough evidence for you to observe that in almost all the alternative routes suggested, the ecological impact remains the same.

My friend, I suggest that you first get your facts straight before jumping in !

For all your rhetoric you still do not seem to get what exactly I am trying to convey and hence, I will close my arguments.

    >> the same Karunanidhi refused to allow the mosque to be moved back

I have already said Thousand Lights is a silly example compared to Setu Canal.

    >> In fact, by your own statement, both temples and mosques were given equal treatment.

precisely. Religion shud not come in the wake of development. Just to give you some satisfaction that non-Hindus are also getting screwed by Setu Canal, take this.

Why is Ram Setu also called Adam's Bridge? because some Adam discovered it? nope. people who found it thought "Adam landed on Srilanka from heaven and walked over this bridge to reach the mainland!". Khush?

    >> if you read the Greenpeace report

Glad. By all means use that to stop the project. Keep Religion out of this. And no, Karunanidhi didn't bring religion into the debate. VHP did that.

    >> I suggest that you first get your facts straight before jumping in !

I suggest you keep your (dormant) hatred for muslims at home and not bring irrelevant points to the debate.

    Hey shithead Balaji;
Before you accuse someone in their own blog, first try to understand what it being said here.

If your pea sized brain does not have the capacity to understand it, then at least have the basic decency to refrain from personal attacks and keep your comments as close to the original topic as possible.

FYKI, this post is targeted at MK and not at any Muslim.

Now, Mr.Balaji, please repeat carefully after me

"This post is targeted at the double game played by Mr.MK".

Yes, you can do it. Once you repeat that a 100 times, please re-read the post.

If you still cannot understand it, well, try again my friend.

    4. Finally more than anything else I have seen how socities have crumbled ans still crumbling because of non-belief in God (Various pre-historic cultures and now Russia etc.). If you challenge their belief you are absolutely shaking the platform of human moral code. Guess what one day people will end like in Russia being self satisfying monsters. It is time we respect Ram if not as God as a great Human being.
