Oh ya was so long away from this world of blogging ! Sorry folks was quite busy with too many a thing.Ya i could have found time to scribble out a line or two.Its ok i guess.
Anyway quite a lot of things have happened over the past 10 or so days.Firstly i turned 28. { It's ok.I can't remain at 20 for 7 long years u know. ;-) } And i get this message from my friend who says 28 is the age to get the girls da macchan.Huh ! Me thinks he is consoling me.Ah but well am i still behind the girls ? There in lies a tale to this which will be a part of some other post.{ Ok Ok jumping to the most obvious conclusions are strongly encouraged :-) }.And so where is the party you may ask.Well i have *never* ever celebrated my birthday before this one.Something tells me im not only going to celebrate birthdays from now on but also life too ! It used to come over in school holidays and i escaped standing in front of the class with the whole class singing "Happy birthday" and me giving out choclates.College hostel was more fun with all and sundry to whom i had given a good kick on their backsides for their birthdays, coming out with their best and hardest shoes ! Ok i could have had the softies { If you dont know what a softie is heh heh i can't help u out ;-) }

Mother's day came and went. What is all this hype about ? Can't quite get a grip on it.Ten years ago where was all this crap ? Ah but then the wise men might say that ten years ago we did not have this kind of an economy.Does advancement in economy mean that we must have this kind of silly stuff ? Dunno. Can't digest these kind of silly and stupid crap. What more days are we going to have ? Younger brother's day ? Ex-girlfriend or Ex-boyfriend's day ? Baby diaper changing day ? Total bat shit. A mother does her work.It is upto you to make every day your mother's day by just obeying her and if you have any disagreement making your point gently. What more is needed ? I think husband day and wife day is not far off.

Oh ya on a more saddening note i blew up an entire 10pack cd into coasters. And since i dont have / like a dinner table i have no use for those coasters :-).Why all this trouble you might ask.Well my laptop's cd writer is giving me some strange kinds of problems.Well this week i dont think i have time to check on that problem.Probably next week !
And i have a new addition to my tech gadgetery.A 160gb external hard disk. The only sad part is that beast demand external power source.I was hoping i would have one without an external power source one.Anyway ! Now to get all those dvd's ripped !

    hi...
Ur post on b'days was good.. i couldn't have agreed more.... standing in front of the class n listening to happy b'day song...;-) people spelling ur name wrong.. some jus lookin at the chocolate box in ur hand, some thinkin "i wore a better dress 4 my b'day" n stuff lik that.. thankfully i have missed the chorus quite a few times..bcuz of the rainy season!!!
but.. wht's with mother's day is that.. It is meant only for those people who hav taken their mom's for granted the entire yr n realisation striking them on 8th of May(n that 2 cuz others r doin it), few others its jus a Western fad ..for rest of us, as u said..everyday is mother's day.. Nobody can even think of repayin their MUM by jus celebrating a few lousy mother's day can they!!!?? & do mom's really want a celebration!!??
    Cheers!!

Why?!!Is it not the birth of a new you each day as some little trivial change atleast knocks you? When you can have one day to pause and celebrate the day you were born, why cant someone pause and celebrate one day out his normal hectic busy life in a special manner as a mother's day?

@hook:Yes mom's might want a celebration..not for their own sakes but atleast for the comforts of the thought that her daughter(s)/son(s) had a whale of a time atleast on this pretext out of their mundane normal day to day life...

I love these SPECIAL days nevertheless..A little time for rejoice goes a longway in a lifetime....

    Smyta...
Prob u r right 2!!! Mom's r the best.. always wanting us to be happy!!!(in the pretext of celebrating them) ;-)

nevertheless i feel.. there is no need for a specific day, to show mom's that v lov them.. it shd b everyday....(atleast i don't kw that such day existed 6-7 yrs back@@!!!??)

@hook:Intresting thought.6-7 years?:-) Not to sound argumentative(Apologies if I seem to) we didnt have cell phones either 6-7 years ago.Eveyrthing changes. We need to hug a few certain good things and keep moving.

OKie I dont know about others, but as a kid I grew up in a employee quarters colony where there were many houses and we had this kind of mother's day, father's day, trees day, street day, grand dad's day, grand mom's day, blind children day, orphan's day...On a mother's day, (which was not necessarily on a 8th) kids of the colony collected money and got bangles, flowers, small vessels and other tokens of gifts, only fathers cooked and did the house while moms just read newspapers and watched TV. By evening we had games and then the whole colony collected in the playground for a nice joint guffaw session.

Why may I ask we celebrate a teacher's day only on 5th sept? We do respect our teachers all round the year:-) We celebrate children's day on 14th Nov..do we love the kids any less the other days.....Essence of these days lies not in the rituals..but in the joy of being together and celebrating...Taking a little time out of your normal schedule and doign something extra special..:-)

Somehow I love the concept of having some sepcial each month....like this round the year..and why we have birthdays and anniversaries too..which would mean we celebrate round the clock throughout the year:-))

    Hey smyta & hook
    some really intresting viewpoints!
particularly the one's on the menfolk cooking etc.must have given the mother's a more torrid time in cleaning the aftermath. and the kitchen must have looked like a war zone i bet :-)
